Josh Gold (@joshgold3) is born and raised in Toronto, Canada, but holds dual Canadian and Estonian citizenship. He graduated from the University of Toronto in 2018, where his bachelor’s thesis focused on the 2007 cyber attacks against Estonia and the country’s strategic use of cybersecurity since. In summer 2018, he interned at the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn, Estonia. As of March 2019, Josh works as a cyber threat analyst at CyberCube. Josh is a 2019 visiting fellow at The Hague Program for Cyber Norms.
Under the direction of Professor Ronald J Deibert, Director of the Citizen Lab (University of Toronto), Josh is working on a research project that will make the case for a Canadian cyberspace foreign policy, including with some specific recommendations. Josh is a board member of the Toronto branch of the Canadian International Council, as well as an active member of the Estonian Central Council in Canada.
