Daan Weggemans

Daan Weggemans is a researcher and lecturer at the Centre for Terrorism and Counterterrorism (CTC), Leiden University- Campus the Hague. He conducted research in Oslo on the Anders Breivik trial. Earlier publications focused on radicalization, new technologies and counterterrorism measures. Currently he is researching the role of the police in deradicalization programs. Also is he conducting research on signals and motivations of (Dutch) foreign fighters in Syria. For the Terrorism Research Initiative (TRI) Weggemans is country coordinator and a member of the board of the Dutch-Flemish Network for Terrorism Researchers.
