Aimee Feeney is currently interning at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs. Her primary focus has been assisting with a project for the Dutch Counterterrorism Coordinator on the policies and measures aimed at dealing with foreign fighters returning from Syria and Iraq. This project has focused on several EU countries including the Netherlands, Belgium and France, as well as the United States.
She is also currently writing her thesis for the MSc Crisis and Security Management on the topic of the African Union as a counterterrorism actor.
Prior to coming to the Netherlands, Aimee obtained an MA with Honours in Politics and International Relations at the University of Aberdeen and completed an internship with the Security Department of the British Red Cross in London.
