Stef Wittendorp is a researcher at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs, Leiden University. His current research involves an inventory of policies, laws and jurisprudence concerning jihadism in various European countries and the United States. This project is funded by the Dutch National Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism and Security (NCTV). He is also finalizing his PhD at the University of Groningen. His dissertation focuses on European Community/European Union counter-terrorism policies (1970-2012), with special attention to the formation of counter-terrorism as a domain of EC/EU policy making. His research interests include security studies, counter-terrorism and EU security policy.
