Ruth Prins

Ruth Prins has a background in Public Administration and is employed as an Assistant Professor at Leiden University, Institute of Security and Global Affairs. Ruth has published on the role of Dutch mayors in local safety networks, integrated safety policies in the Netherlands, policing in European metropolises and crisis management structures. In her current research projects, she focuses on mayors tackling various threats to public order, the national police force in the Netherlands, leadership and crisis, administrative approaches to organized crime, and agenda setting for public safety governance. Ruth teaches bachelor and master courses in respectively Public Administration and Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University's Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs.
